Take A Time Out

I stopped all work since Friday afternoon.
I did nothing but non-work related things — music, art, great food, horse time, friends, more food, sleep. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I crammed alot of that good stuff in, in a short period of time.
It felt good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love my work and it is my primary form of creative expression these days. But, I could feel my processes slowing down a little due to lack of rest. I found myself staring at my computer screen waiting for strokes of genius to hit me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They never came. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I needed to shift my focus and NOT think about work for a while. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And guess what happened: I woke up this morning with incredible clarity and energy and excitement and new ideas I can not wait to execute. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It seems there is direct connection by how “busy” I am and how “creative” I feel.
